What do I need to rent a car?

An account with approved KYC (ID, driver's license and a selfie), a minimum age of 23 and a license at least 1 year old. For pickups and 4x4 it's 25. The deposit is held on your card via Stripe, so no cash is needed.

How does pickup work?

Each owner sets where you can pick up the car. Many owners deliver to Henry Fernandes Airport, Johan Adolf Pengel Airport or your accommodation. For some listings you collect from the owner's address. You agree the exact spot with the owner upfront.

What's included in the price?

All-risk insurance, unlimited mileage and 24/7 WhatsApp support. Delivery can be free or for a small fee, listed per car. Fuel is on you: picked up full means returned full.

Can I drive anywhere in Suriname?

Yes. You can drive anywhere in Suriname and the insurance applies country-wide. Travel to Guyana or French Guiana is only allowed with prior arrangement with the owner.

How do I cancel my reservation?

Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the agreed pickup time, via your dashboard. After that we charge one daily rate. When in doubt, contact the owner directly through the platform.

Which currencies can I pay in?

Payments run through Stripe in EUR. Each listing shows the price and deposit upfront, so there are no surprises later. Owners can be paid out in SRD, USD or EUR.

How high is the deposit?

The deposit is set by each owner per listing and visible upfront. At booking the amount is held on your card via Stripe, not charged. On a clean return the platform releases the deposit automatically.

Question 8

Can someone else drive the car too?

Accepted Answer

Yes, as long as they're listed on the contract as a second driver. The second driver's license is shown to the owner at handover. A second driver is free.
